Back in September, our team was invited to attend the Jonathan Joseph Peters show at the 2015 Boston Fashion Week. Recognize the name? It might be because Jonathan was a designer on the 7th season of Project Runway. #MakeItWerk
Since moving to Boston in April, I’d been keeping track of the upcoming runway shows for BFW, as I had always had a great time attending the shows at Fashion Week San Diego and Charleston Fashion Week (now the Baker Motor Company Charleston Fashion Week – ooh la la) and supporting local designers. Therefore, when the Jonathan Joseph Peters runway show invite popped in my inbox, I immediately RSVP’ed yes.
Upon arrival, we noticed the show was taking place in an empty warehouse-like space. The room was completely empty except for the white runway, white background and rows of long minimalistic benches on each side. As we all took our seats, the lights dimmed, the music started blaring, & the first looks walked out.
When designing the collection, Jonathan collaborated with House of Cach to create a romance-inspired show filled with Byzantine and Rococo-reminiscent gowns. The show had a sense of regal-ness as each model walked out with ornate headpieces and extravagant jewelry.
