I couldn’t help but smile when I read a recent New York Times article mentioning that printed books were back on the rise. Yes, people… that’s right, print is far from dead!
When it comes to books, I’ve always dreamt of having my own extensive library one day. Just imagine… floor to ceiling bookshelves filled with hundreds and hundreds of books. Now that I think about it, no wonder I was so obsessed as a child with that scene in Beauty and the Beast where Belle twirls around in that humongous library that she is eventually, so conveniently gifted…
As the rain rolls in again this weekend, I recommend skipping the Netflix marathon and catching up on that reading list you kept on meaning to get around to this summer.
OK, maybe you never had a summer reading list in the first place. Either way, there’s nothing better than a warm cup of coffee and a good read on a rainy (& chilly) Sunday morning. Need some suggestions? I’ve listed a few of my favorites below (that I’ll continuously add to). And while some of these have been made into films, I beg you to do yourself a favor and read the books first.
Not sure where to get these (besides on your e-reader)? Well, if you’re in Boston, make sure to stop by Brattle Book Shop, my favorite
hole-in-the-wall alley filled book store.
