Noch ein Bier, bitte!
No, I don’t speak German… I actually had to look that up with Google translator. This weekend I’m heading to Dover, VT for Mount Snow’s 18th Annual Oktoberfest, therefore, it was required that I learn how to ask for another beer.
Back in 2011 while living in NYC, my friends and I were looking for a way to escape the city. We grew up skiing at Mount Snow each winter, so when we realized that they host a pre-ski season Oktoberfest festival, we immediately made plans for a beer & bratwurst-filled weekend.
With very little expectations, we arrived at the mountain and were handed a glass stein and a beer token. Immediately after purchasing more beer tokens, we made our way around the base of the mountain, trying the region’s best beers. But while the beer was great – it was everything else that made the day amazing. With Oom-pah music, ski lift rides to the summit, an apple sling shot and best yet – the highly competitive keg toss… now 4 years later, we still talk about the epicness of the weekend.
Anyhow, while I’ll provide a photo recap following the weekend – for those also heading to a New England Oktoberfest, I’ve included below a few of my favorite fall outfits for some inspo. You’ll notice I’m suggesting you go more casual, rather than fall time chic (but that’s just because I’m heading to the mountains). Plus, as I’m sure you can tell, I’m obsessed with “earthy” colors this season – blue, green, tan, brown, gray… And yes, this year I’ve been fully embracing the skinny jean, cable knit oversized sweater, and heeled brown booties.
