About two months ago, my brother called me with some exciting news. He’s out in San Francisco and I thought, “Hmmm… I really want to get his favorite beer delivered as a way for him to celebrate… but can I do that from Boston?”
With a quick Google search, I came across Drizly, the on-demand alcohol app that delivers your favorite wine, beer, etc… right to your door.
Fast forward to about a week ago and I receive an invitation to a Drizly Date Night at their headquarters here in Boston that involved two things I couldn’t turn down: alcohol and bbq.
But, wait….Drizly is based in Boston?! Clearly, I had to check this out.
When arriving at their office…which I must say, is in the most convenient location (right next to the Boston Public Garden)…I was greeted right away with a bourbon & ginger beer cocktail.
Now, let me start by saying that prior to this event, I was definitely not a bourbon fan. Why’s that? I guess I’ve just never been served a cocktail with bourbon that I liked. Luckily, I was feeling adventurous and quickly, my past distaste for bourbon was no more.
Trisha Antonsen, the Chief Cocktail Officer, whipped up a Capone, which consisted of: bourbon, ginger beer, simple syrup, balsamic vinegar, fresh basil leaves and a cherry tomato garnish.
From there, we dined on bbq from Sweet Checks (nom!) and I’ll admit, I couldn’t just stop at one Capone.
Now – I’ll stop bragging about being invited to one of the coolest offices in Boston for cocktails and delicious food & provide you with a bit more info on Drizly.
It’s pretty simple.
You download the Drizly app on your phone.
Sign up and add your favorite beer, wine and liquor to your cart.
Check out, pay and tip your driver, all on the Drizly app.
Less than an hour later, your alcohol will be delivered.
No need to know the nitty gritty details as to where it’s coming from (OK, if you must know, you can read more here). Just know, when you have friends that decide to stop by your apartment for a surprise visit, don’t fret if you’re fresh out of libations… Drizly‘s got you covered.
