December is here, yay! And you can bet that when I head to the grocery store, I’m going to make a list and check it twice 🙂
This past week, after hearing all about Wegmans Food Markets for the past few years from my New Yorker friends (seriously, I think Wegmans has a legit cult following), I decided to make my way out to the closest one to me in Natick, MA.
When I first got there and parked in the attached parking garage, I walked through their heated, covered walkway that brought me straight to the store (ooh la la!). For fellow New Englanders, who hate getting out of their car when it’s blizzarding outside, this is so key.
Of course, when I stepped inside, I finally realized what all the talk was about. It literally had EVERYTHING. And for someone who always finds herself having to go to multiple grocery stores, liquor stores, etc… it was like Wegmans was made for me.
This year, we aren’t hosting any parties, but we are going to a few holiday shindigs. To follow the golden rule (never show up empty handed), I made my way to the wine, beer and spirits section first, picking up a few bottles of bubbly.
While heading to the 2nd floor to place my catering order (anyone else celebrate Feast of the Seven Fishes and show up with a platter full of sushi? ha!), I spotted some festive poinsettias and wreaths. Might as well pick some up while here, since we also just put up the tree!
A few moments later, I spotted the cheese counter and helped myself to a few samples (I’ll never say ‘no’ to cheese). And then made my way to the fresh bakery to grab a few holiday cookies and cutely wrapped panettone. Oh, and the grab-and-go cups of cannoli filling and chips – but that’s for my drive home 🙂 .
After filling up the cookie box, I spotted the flower section and had to pick up one of their seasonal bouquets too. And then right from there, realized it was time for an afternoon pick-me-up at The Buzz coffee bar located right IN Wegmans.
If I had more time, I most likely would have grabbed a bite at their Mexican restaurant and tequila bar, Blue Dalia. I’m thinking this was a necessary addition since so many people go food shopping while hungry!
Thankfully, I was able to get everything I needed and can’t wait to return for round 2 of holiday shopping – AND – just overall grocery shopping in general. If you live nearby and can’t make it to your local Wegmans, you can even get your groceries delivered now using Instacart.
What items are you looking forward to picking up this December? And, if you’ve been to Wegmans, any favorites I should get next time I’m there?
Thank you Wegmans for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
