Let’s just start by saying THANK GOD it is finally summer.
While most people mark June 21 as the first day of summer, for me, its always the first weekend we can hop on the boat and cruise around on the water, followed by anchoring up next to the beach for swimming, suntanning, and snacking.
Whenever packing up for a day on the boat, the first thing I do is fill up the cooler with drinks and lite bites. I’m a huge snacker, so this should come as no surprise.
This summer, both Jeff and I have become obsessed with Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP. They have tons of flavors, but for this outing, we tried their Real Butter, Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn, and Chile Lime popcorn.
Once we got to the marina, Jeff put the boat in, while I grabbed Rory and made my way to the launch dock. Rory loves the beach, and within moments of being on the boat, knew exactly where we were heading.
About 15 minutes later, we pulled up to The Spit, one of the beaches in Scituate, MA. Anytime you’re there, the entire beach is lined with dozens (& sometimes hundreds) of boats, all anchored up. You can only get to this beach by boat, unless you happen to live in the nearby neighborhood. And even if you do, you have to wait until low tide to walk out.
As we pulled up, Jeff & Rory hopped off to anchor the boat, while I focused on gathering the chairs & my beloved drinks and snacks.
Once settled in, I grabbed a bag of the Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn… and oh. my. god. I think I inhaled about half the bag in just a few minutes (hey! I’m eating for two 🙂 ). As I sat there, I kept thinking there was no way I was sharing with Jeff.
Of course, Rory was, for once, more interested in the beach + water, than he was with food, so Jeff grabbed his own bag to hang out with the pup near the water. The water was freezing… I really have no clue how Rory does it.
My favorite part about Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP? It’s made with real, simple ingredients. No loooong list of ingredients, just some whole grain goodness.
After a few hours, it was time to pack up and head back home. Thankfully, my cooler was much lighter, seeing that we ate everything we packed.
And now, I’m already daydreaming about our next boat adventure…
Thank you Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
